the wire is not that long.
It's basically like an adapter so you can use a regular s-video or video wire.

(you know, the yellow cable that comes with the Red White and Yellow cable to connect a video to a tv)

so to re-itterate, it allows you to use a regular video wire from your mac to the tv, or an s-video cable.

no not composite.
Composit is the Red Green Blue cables which make up the video portion (are usually used for high quality DVD players for example)

I mean the simple Yellow video cable that comes with almost any peice of equipment that plugs into the tv.

that is how the adapter looks.

You can plug either a wire from the s-video to the tv, or a video cable to the tv.

they both look the same anyway (but have different functions)

You basically just need any cable with that port.
