> O2 GPRS W810i Settings
Bookmark topic
Alot of people have had some problems with the w810i and setting it up for GPRS. Also, it doesnt work if you try and send the settings to your mobile phone from the O2 website for some strange reason - the technical team are working on it
.
Anyways, here are the manual installation steps which O2 will provide you if you ring, also these are the only steps which are in control of O2, if it does not work, it is most likely the firmware on your phone is branded to a network and wont allow another networks settings to work:
Ok, its very simple to change these settings, follow this, please note ALL referrences to O2, please use the letter and not the number:
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Data Comm. -> Data Accounts -> New Account -> GPRS Data
Name: O2 Wap Gprs
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username: payandgo
Password: password
Select Save
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Internet Settings -> Internet Profiles -> New profile
Name: O2 Wap Gprs
Connect Using: O2 Wap Gprs
Select Save
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Internet Settings -> Internet Profiles -> O2 Wap Gprs -> More -> Settings
Use Proxy: Yes
Proxy Address: 193.133.200.195
Port Number: 8080
Username: payandgo
Password: password
Select Save
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Internet Settings -> Internet Profiles -> O2 Wap Gprs -> More -> Advanced -> Change Homepage
Name: O2 Active
Address:
http://wap.o2.co.uk
Select Save
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Internet Settings -> Internet Profiles -> O2 Wap Gprs -> Select
TRY AND CONNECT TO THE INTERNET
If it does not work, please turn off your phone and leave it for 1 minute. Switch it back on and try again.
If it still does not work, please check the settings again, re-enter passwords again, check you use the letter "O" not the number, check the proxy address has been entered correctly.
If these settings do not work, then there is no way you are able to connect to the O2 Wap as this is all the O2 customer support can do for you.
