I've got an old Nokia 3310/3330 which was passed on by my boy-friend.
He said there was something wrong with it but not sure as it had no battery to test it. As i have a Nokia 3310/3330, i used my battery to test it with a T-Mobile sim-card. When switched on, it came up with the old One-One which changed to T-mobile but after a while i noticed it would freeze up and nothing would respond (keys, on-off button) if it was on standby, browsing through the menu, calls/text messaging etc then switch off.
It sounds like it developed a software problem and i'm wondering if i these kind of old phones can can be fixed be re-flashing the software?

@ miss uk: erm, just curious why did you post in my thread rather than post a new one for yourself?

yes a service point can upgrade you phone. But it will surely cost you some bucks. I think miss uk was pointing to that when she posted in your topic

Oh ok. I see. Well, there is nothing else wrong with it, but like you said would it be worth it to re-flash it as you can get a Nokia 3310/3330 cheap these days around £20-30.

depends what you want the phone for are you bothered bout
wap etc?
if not try your luck at getting a 8210 I got one for a fiver
and one of the nice chappys here has just sorted my securiy code out for me so I haven't had to spend £19 on the phone afterall

okay, right....i don't know how to fix it, but has it had something spilt on it? also, are you seriously going to use such a brick of a phone, in todays world where you can get a basic phone for £15-£20?!?!? - to be honest, i believe yes it could be fixed. But it would probably cost more than the phone is worth. if you have the right screwdriver/whatever to open the phone right up, have a look whether the there is anything obvious wrong and take some photos to post here. otherwise, i'd say throw the phone away (its a bloody brick!), and go to
here (virgin mobile) where you can get a Nokia 1101 for £22.50 with £25 credit. good deal eh?

@ miss uk. I doubt i would get much for it on eBay but nor would i risk to by any mobiles from there either! It would just be a back up phone incase one of my others break down. Glad to hear that you got your phone sorted out through.
@ awave: I think it might be a software fault, but i have no idea how to re-flash mobiles. If i knew how to fix it, i would do it myself. But i have no knowlegde of mobile technology. I still like the 3310/3330 even it is a bit big/chunky. It's a very trust worthy and durable phone! I will most likely be more than the worth as i did see them up to £30 brand new. Wouldn't you need to have a T6 Trox screw driver to open mobiles? Thanks for the link, but i already got three PAYG's, so wouldn't really need to get another one!
