.... and I'm sorry if this is a stupid one, I'm still kinda new to this. However, I do need help. Just got a SE W600i Branded from Cingular and was a little dissapointed to see that some of the menu commands and features of the phone were disabled (including the update feature ).

QUESTION: If I get the DCU-60 Cable and flash the firmware straight from SE using my PC, what can I expect? Will the phone revert to it's SE factory state? Will it be unlocked (not that this matters much to me at this point)? Will all of the menus and features appear as intended?

Basicaly what I want is to have the phone in it's original intended state without all the Cingular crap plastered all through it, and to be able to "unblock" the features that were hidden by Cingular.

To debrand a branded phone you should buy credits from DaVinci...SEUS will not debrand your phone...If you go through SEUS, it will say that no update available for your phone at the moment...

Credits for TMS can be bought here

Much more reliable than davinci, more models supported, more functions.
Less expensive credits. Overall better support

The latest firmware available from multiserver is R7B039. It's unbranded, factory clean FW that will remove all cingular branding and unlock the hidden features if there are any.

that looks pretty straight forward. Thanks for a ll the info. So I can do this with the DCU-60 Data cable?

All the phones I have had in the past have been bought stratght from SE and were never needed to be unlocked , this one was free and I thought i'd be a cool phone. ...Until I saw how much Cingular butchered it.
