AVG is free, from what i hear, thats the best 'free' one

As for payable ones, i aint sure matey

But i'll be interested in finding out too

I had nortan once but that seriously affected PC performance

Mcafee offers probably the best security of all but, like Norton, it can slow your PC down way too much. Even if you have a very fast machine!

So I always recommend AVG. It's small, light, doesn't slow the PC down and it works very well.

Really it depends on who's using the computer. If you know what you're doing and avoid visiting naughty websites, downloading suspect software or opening dodgy email attachments then AVG will be fine.

On the other hand if the user hasn't got a clue about viruses and spyware, you will need the extra security of Mcafee or Norton such as the spam blocker, parental controls and anti-spyware shield.
