Motorola Inc. rode strong gains in its cell phone division to a $111 million third-quarter net profit, snapping a streak of six straight money-losing quarters despite lower-than-expected sales.
The tech giant Tuesday turned in its first quarterly net gain since 2000, citing improved profit margins as the result of cost controls implemented during its two-year restructuring

motorola's results are probably the precursor to similar events in the financial news lately.....u know those dominated by Enron and WorldCom.....hahahahahaha........hmmmmmm watcha think???
