For those who's unfortunate to use Belkin Bluetooth USB dongle instead of other better ones, like me and been experiencing xfer (such as picture) problem to the computer running at least XP (all I have), no more!

Use TECOM BT3030 (http://tecomproduct.com/bt3030.htm) latest driver v1.2.2.16 (http://tecomproduct.com/asp/download.asp?id=164) instead since they are basically identical adapter.

Have fun!

Driver detail:

Belkin problem:
- CD says v1.2.2.9 but their web site says Rev. 1.00.000 not only that, their file dates are messed up.
- XP Dev. Mgr. revealed it's based on Widcomm v1.2.1.20 old

TECOM:
- Their website says v1.2.2.16
- XP Dev. Mgr. revealed it's based on Widcomm v1.2.2.15 chked out the same OK version that TDK users got theirs to work

Thanks BlaSTiWi, for this finding.

I have a couple questions for you. Do I need to unistall any of the software which was installed by Belkin ?? If so, is it simply removed from the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel ?? Instead of installing the drivers from the CD, I installed the latest version located on Belkin's website.

Second, how do I configure if to recognize the T68i ?? After spending hours last night trying to get it to work with the Belkin Drivers, I am a little apprehensive about trying it again.

Lastly, in your post, you mention "For those who's unfortunate to use Belkin Bluetooth USB dongle instead of other better ones"... Can you provide me with a list of USB Dongle's which might work better with the T68i ?? I just purchased it yesterday, so I am still within my 30 day return period. I chose Belkin because they typically make some pretty good products, I guess this one fell through the cracks.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

@mwep,

I did both ways, seems to be the Tecom driver did some sort of cleanup anyway but I would try as much as possible remove older driver just to make sure it won't complicate thing. Actually, the driver on Belkin's website seems to be identical or maybe older when I compared the dates.

When sending out the picture I didn't even pair them at all, T68i found my PC and it did the moving xmit bar and reported sent. For other services I usually make T68i discoverable and let my PC connect to it (such as the serial port or the DUN).

I heard TDK made a good one and also MSI, but as far as I know under $50 probably only Belkin (And that Tecom is the other twins) but so far by borrowing Tecom driver I'm pretty happy.

I was on email exchange w/ Belkin support but they are really clueless, blame it on the device instead 'cuz they consider other services to work but no idea that device driver also important.

Good luck!

BlaSTiWi:

Thanks for your response. I will try it tonight.

Do you know how to send themes from the PC to the T68i ?? Once they are sent, where do they appear ?? Does the T68i know it received a Theme and add it to the available Theme list ??

What program are you using to send pictures from PC to T68i ?? What is the xmit bar ??

Thanks again!

@mwep,

I haven't done themes yet but I did pictures from the PC to the T68i using great utilities from http://www.christersson.org/software_main.asp site.

When you sending somethign from the T68i it'll sorta display the xfer progress, there's a bar moving from left -> right on the info window on the display)

Have fun!
