I have created what must be one of the stupidest ideas for some time on esato. Now the plan is for me to send a plain chocolate hobnob to KK who lives in cardiff, this has to be atleast 40 miles from me. The brave explorere is traveleing in a small white jiffy bag via first class royal mail post as of tomorrow.
Now the otorious hobnob is very crumbely and can be easily melted, we will be seeing if the hob nob will survive a mear 40 mile trip using the uks "number 1" mail service.
No expense has been spared,
jiffy bag -20p
stamp -32p
hobnob - 79p a pack
lables - 15p
Who wants to bet on this one?

of course it wont survive. it will be crammed with other post. then chucked around in the sorting office. i recon a 1/4 or so will crumble off, it will slightly melt, and the jiffy bag will have some melted choc in the inside.....
this is a bit sad btw

I dont think it will survive at all to be honest, but this thread does remind me of an idea i had: to send a live mouse/mice using royal mail.
i still want to do this but i might get done for animal cruelty lol

I don't mean to sound cynical, but there might be a better chance of it being pinched and scoffed rather than broken.

I agree with scotsboyuk here. Chances are a posty will eat it before I get to take pics.
...yes... a posty, honest! *shifty eyes*
I doubt we'll get any pics here... *Wipes crumbs from mouth*

Why don't you try sending one to different members across the uk, that way we could kind of gage what the postal service is like all over the place.
I would cover the cost of the hobnob, jiffy bag and the postage of course, i reckon mine would turn up ok, the post is good up here.
What do you think?

I would suggest placing the biscuity treat in one of those resealable bags before placing it in the Jiffy* bag
*other brands of padded envelope are available
