I'm a happy P900 owner and I just thought about why I actually want to change out this wonderful phone with P990.

Is it just the search and need (oh what a need ) for new devices that justify the buy of a P990?

The better camera? - yes but a function I rarely use...
QWERTY? - I prefer using my pc for word editing
WIFI? Now there's a reason perhaps
Memory? - I could just upgrade to P910 or maybe just P905

The size is the same anyway

No... I know the P990 is a great phone, but my point is that maybe we in our "hunger" for this new device forget how great the "old" P-series actually are?

I completely agree! you have actually just put into words what i was thinking. i love my p900 and am getting it upgraded to a p905 soon so i can have 1gb msduo. I also might be misinformed here but why should i sacrifice my large flip open screen for a screen no bigger than my flip closed? that would make my movies and games tiny! (can u actually remove the qwerty keypad for a bigger screen?) This message was posted from a P900

forums like this do create a certain "must have" mentaility from all the hype and excitement, but often we don't really need the very latest and you guys spell that out so well

It sounds to me like you're making the right choice

Lack of umts could be a reason to go for it. This message was posted from a Nokia

i'm gonna hold myself back from getting the p990, at least until it's cost drops, as i'm still using a p910.word of warning.if you must better your p900, don't bother with the p905 conversion, as you're still lumbered with low ram.better get the p910 instaed.it's infinitely better. reasons to upgrade for me are built in radio, useable camera ( people don't use the 900 or 910 camera cos its pish ), wifi and hopefully an inbuilt excel viewer that can open files in the 1mb region.

When I use to have my P800 back then, told myself to see how the P910i will 'fair' . . . been with me for just a week and have seen not much improvements, better get the P800-again, if ever . . . but for the specs, I guess there's a BIG jump from the P910i to the P990, so I guess it will be worth the buy this time

For me... Wifi feature is the critical point. And radio as a bonus always welcome spec.

Foxhunter - I am with you. My P900 is beautiful and I love it even after using it for more than 2 years. Why upgrade. Wifi I would really like, more memory of course a better camera sure. I am planning to upgrade to the P990 after it is out for awhile.

Puh - glad I'm not alone...

I also find it hard to imagine the P990 will never be in my pocket, but it will certainly not be untill it's way down in price and all the bugs are fixed - the P900 is simply to great a phone to throw away yet
