Can't believe it but it looks to be true. Apparently viewing figures have dropped from 20million to just 1million in recent years....

A crying shame I say.

Read this in paper this morning was quite shocked though theres no surprise with MTV etc and the rise of freeview with thehits which is on 24/7 not just 1 hour a week. A shame but hey life goes on

not with the standard of 'pop' music these days.

Anyway people can just go to websites like www.umusic.co.uk and watch music videos there or just dowload the track online.

It should be a web based show (hint hint)

I must admit, It's a very long time since I last watched it but it was very good...once...I think...... Certainly in the eighties, but then 80's music was and still is KING

Its gone right downhill, look at the troglodytes presenting it, and look at the crap thats on it week in, week out. Its no wonder it got the axe.

I agree. The BBC have always been rubbish at 'trendying things up' and TOTP is a prime example. To the beeb, modernisation means dumbing down. Add to this the constant flow of manufactured, unoriginal artists topping the bill and you end up with a show that should have been put to sleep years ago.

The last time I watched it, Mick Jagger and David Bowie were at number one with their cover version of dancing in the street. Now I'm showing my age!

I second that.

You reckon they'll have a special show with the likes of Noel Edmonds and Jimmy Saville ? That'd be good...
