Hi there,

I'm trying to get my W810i set up for POP3 email but the settings I'm getting from the SE website don't seem to be working. Is there anybody who's on the O2 network on a contract who's managed to get this working?

Any help I can get would be great.

Cheers

Right here we go.................

Firstly you need to have an O2 Mobile Web data account active. Go to Menu - Settings - Connectivity - Data comm - Data Accounts and if O2 Mobile Web
is not there chose New Account and set up as follows:

Account type - GPRS data

Name - O2 Mobile Web
APN - mobile.o2.co.uk

Username - O2web
Password - password

Then Save.

Then back in Data Accounts choose O2 Mobile Web and then Edit

APN, Username and Password you have already entered. So complete all other options as follows:

Login request - Off
Allow Calls - Automatic
IP Address - leave blank
DNS address - 193.113.200.200
Authentication - PAP
Data Compression - Off
Header Compression - Off

That now has your Mobile web account set up. Now onto Email settings.

Back to Menu - Messages - Email - Settings - Account Settings - New Account

Account Name - Whatever mailbox you are connecting to (you can use more than one by repeating this for each mailbox yopu have)

Connect Using - O2 Mobile Web

Protocol - POP3

Incoming Server - You can get this off your email provider or from your Outlook settings

Incoming Port - Usually it's 110 but double check

encryption - No Encryption (usually but check)

Mailbox - is usually your username as provided by your supplier

Password - As provided by your supplier

Outgoing server - As provided by your supplier or check your outlook settings

Outgoing port - Usually 25 but double check

Email address - your email address

download - your preference but headers only uses less data

From Name - your preference but leave blank if you want to see everything you receive

Signature - your preference but easier for testing purposes to leave blank

Copy outgoing - you choice

Check interval - your choice, your phone will connect and check at the specified interval if you wish.

When all input hit Done (right soft key)

Now go to Messaging - Email - Inbox - accounts and choose the account you wish to use (if you have more than one).

Then hit the Send & Rec key and if all is working you will get your email to your phone.

If you want to let me know who your email account is with I can be a bit more specific with some of the above details or just shout if it all goes breasts to the ceiling (Tits up!!)

Hopr this helps
