I have been having trouble with my w900 which is on vodafone. The phone is very unreliable and keeps craching when using walkman and making calls etc. When playing songs in walkman the songs also tend to jump and skip. I took my phone into the store and have had it replaced with a refirbished one. I had the same problem on this phone, but before i could take it back into the store the phone got wet. Now i have taken it into the store and it was sent away. They have said that it is water damaged and they cannot repair it. I know that this is not why it is broken even though it may be water damaged.
Is there any thing i can do to get my phone replaced again as i have no insurance?
Has anyone had the same trouble with the w900?
Please help it would be great if someone could give me some advice on what to do in this tough situation!
Thanks!

Firstly, how long had you had the original when you took it in because of the walkman issues? It seems a bit odd that they'd replace yours with a refurbished one. Had you had it long?

You say they've sent your second one away as they can't fix it - is it being repaired by someone else? Will you get it back?

If your phone is less than a year old then it should be replaced under warranty, although as you'd got it wet, that seems doubtful now.

As for the walkman problems, I never had that with mine, although I did have to take mine back after 3 days as it kept deleting things, like pictures. very annoying.

I took the first one back to the shop about three months after i had got the contract. They decided to give me a refirbished one. The refirbished one still had problems with it as it kept craching when making calls sometimes and using walkman. Now the contract is about 6 months old. I took the water damaged phone in and they would not give me a refirbished one. I was wondering if there is anything i could do or say to make them give me a refirbished one again. Are you on vodafone? because i think that is what is screwing the phone up?

And yes i have got the second one back un repaired. There is a problem with the camera which doesent work and when i plug the charger in it opens file transfer mode. Also i have the original crashing problems and the light does not work either. I think everything else is ok at the moment! Battery life is a bit down though. Do you know anyone who maybe able to fix it?

I'm sorry to hear you're having so many problems with your phone, mate

Personally, I wouldn't have let Vodafone get away with swapping my brand new phone with a refurbished one, and I can't believe they've given it back to you with so much still wrong with it. Have you tried speaking to Vodafone customer service?

My second phone didn't have the deletion problem, but I have since removed all traces of Vodafone from my w900. I used Wotanserver to flash it, and I'm very happy with the result. Maybe you could try flashing your phone? Whichever system you use (Wotanserver, Davinci etc), the task is fairly painless (as long as you don't use SEUS) and you can have nice, shiny flash menus!

Hope that helps.

The refurbished phone they gave me was like new. But still had the same problems. But now its broken because i got it wet and they sent it off and then sent it back un fixed. O well i guess it was my fault. I will try flashing it even though i dont think it will fix the camera.
Thanks for all your help!
