I'm guessing he means that he might have recorded the video in portrait mode and found that when viewing it on his computer, the picture is sideways. I've done it before... not smart.

Find some software to convert the clip to avi or mpg then use Virtual Dub (go to Video/Filters/Add/Rotate) to rotate it.
