I figure it's not by using Music2Phone, eh? I know I can copy files directly to the phone.. the question is.. how do I have to copy them so that the W800 Walkman software will properly recognize albums as such? I'm talking about the folder structure. On my PC, my music is organized like this:

Artist - Album\Artist - Album - Track# - Title.mp3

If I were to copy a whole album folder, I'm guessing the W800 music software would not recognize that as an album properly.. so what's the way to do it? Just grab the files themselves and copy those?

Thanks

Go to the MP3 folder. Make a new folder, that'll be the artist, then in that folder make another new folder, that'll be the album, and in that folder paste the song. Make sure the song has the same album/artist tags as the folder name otherwise they wont appear when you're playing the song. These tags can be altered by going to properties>summary>advance.

I suppose if it's that much of a PITA it's much easier to just use Disc2Phone..

Did you see my first post? My entire music collection is set up like that. So each time I want to transfer music to my phone, I'll have to do a ton of copy&pasting and new folder creating and file moving and whatnot.. how is that quick and easy? :/

Dude, that really is up to you. But like i said, Disk2Phone will sort out your songs in artists/album names like they appear in the tags, which can be changed by the method i mentioned above.
So before using, make sure you have them correct.

How the hell did you "spot" my response so quickly? Haha..
Well, Disc2Phone won't change the file structure of my songs in my collection on my PC, right? It will only change it "temporarily", so to say, while transferring to the phone. The one thing that bothers me is that transferring to my 1GB memory stick via a card reader would probably be WAY faster than doing it while the card is in the phone using the phone's USB cable..

Disc2Phone doesn't support loading stuff onto the card directly using a card reader, right?

so does moving all my perfectly tagged music with album art straight into 1 folder not change anything about the way its sorted then, because on my creative player i just dump all my music with tags and album art and in an as-if-by-magic way, everythings organised perfeclty

You cant just dump them there. If you name the folder Jenifer Lopez, and the tag says Pink Floyd, then on the phone, it will say Pink Floyd. If you have tons of songs to copy, then Disk2Phone is probably the way to go, but keep the tags correct.

i already know all the tags are correct, im just confused with all the folder things as i cant figure out how it would arrange it if your saying it needs folders, i.e. in my mp3 player i just shove it all on there and then in the software it organises them into artist, album, etc as if they were in folders

is it the same for the walkman phones or do they have to be in fodlers to be organised properly?
