Ok, i dont know what to do here so i need your advice. My p900 (which i love) seems to be feeling its age because even though i have 4megs memory at most times, its very sluggish even after a restart. Ive only had my p900 about 3/4 of a year (its second hand though so its been alive longer than that) and it has the latest firmware but its sluggish and there are notable pauses even between pulling up the onscreen keyboard! On-top of that is the failing keypad which doesnt pick up some keys anymore. Has anyone else experienced this and is my p900 just suffering from old age or is it a software problem? Another problem is that i cannot currently afford a p910 or a p990 so what can anyone suggest to help me? This message was posted from a P900

Isn't it quite a long time since there was a new software release for the P900? And was there actually something new added...?

However I agree with the masterreset/format and then installing all programs on the MEMORYSTICK NOT THE INTERNAL PHONEMEMORY - use Sman to close all programs you don't need running in the background.

I have a P900 myself and I LOVE it

I would upgrade the firmware again but i havent yet got broadband so i cant. Last time was at a sony service centre because it broke and they reflashed it for me. Yep, i never install anything to the internal memory. All i have on it is SMAN and a couple of photos so i have plenty of intenal memory. Its my 4megs of ram because unless i reboot, i cant play Legacy. Plus, am i the only p900 user who likes the flip keypad? I doesnt matter though because im getting a new one off ebay. I've had my P900 for about 2.5 years now, and yes, it is showing its age. However, it's still the best device I've had and nothing in production *now* compares to it as far I am concerned.

The slowdown can be caused by a background process or lack of system RAM, not storage memory (C drive). This is actually 16mb, of which the system uses more than half at boot time.

I also have the keypad on. In fact, I never even attempted to remove it. To me, these things are a phone first, and anything and everything else second.

i had 2 x p800's, 2 x p900's and i'm using a slightly battered p910i now.

overall i don't look after my phones very well, as i tend to play pool a lot with it in my pocket and have been through a few screens....

still the best phone money can buy, not even sure ill rush to swap mine for a 990, = they look awesome flip-off and the 990 doesn't.

2gb duo full of mp3s & tomtom maps of all of europe - if it had wifi for voip it wud be perfect but it's pretty damn close already.

By the way - it's not so long time ago that someone made a topic about the P800 that showed the P800 is not outdated yet - so the P900 outdated?

Not a chance

I dont think the p900 is outdated (i think its ace!) but i just think that mine is quite old and showing it. Id like to think that ive taken care of my p900 but im not sure about the previous owner though... (the case is scratched and so is the screen) Anyway, i might be getting enough money to get a p910 soon but im not sure because i prefer the look of the p900 over the p910. I would like a p990 but there is barely anymore screen with the flip off and i dont if its worth it because i love my huge screen! This message was posted from a P900

yeah, when it comes to looks, i like p900 much more than p910 or the god-knows-when-it-will-come p990. I have had this for 2 years or so, and the 'OK' is no more okay....but i still love it for what it is!
