Taken from GSM Arena:-
''A cool innovation is the implementation of the Identify Music feature. If you happen to hear a song on the radio that you really like, you could start the Identify Music and it will record a few seconds from the song, upload it to a server and get the Artists and Songs names. This feature is going to be seen in all new Sony Ericsson models that have FM Radio capabilities''
Don't know how many times i've heard a song on the radio and wondered what the title/artist was.

Yeah. Thats provided by Gracenote. Cool feature. It should work in nightclubs etc.
When you transfer music using disc2phone it also contacts the Gracenoter servers to get the artist info.

I thought I read somewhere that it will be a 30 trial? By the way, the same review said Sony Ericsson intends to have that feature in all future phones that have a radio.

Good move for

. For a second there I thought they'll limit TrackID to

handsets (in the same way AF has been limited to the Cybershot line); note that the TrackID system is hooked up to an online music store; they didnt want to miss out on a good chunk of the market out there, obviously

Yeah, if it increases the chances of people purchasing from Sony Connect then it can't be a bad thing.
I thought I read that this feature can sample music from anywhere and search for it in huge library of tunes.
Wouldn't be so bad if it also offered you the ringtone to match the tune, if it was available - saving you having to crop your MP3s.
