In order to put this discussion to rest, let us compile us all the reviews we can find and figure out which is better. In the meanwhile saprobaby will be posting his personal benchmarks soon.

ALthough Sony has only 32MB card being tested, it shouldnt make any difference.

Usually going with Sony (even though more expensive) is the better option. Though of course thats not to put down SanDisk and other companies like Lexmar. I have a 512mb Lexmar one and I think its superb, certainly haven't had any trubles with it.

For the sake of clarity, it would have been better using same size cards for both.
I would imagine high capacity cards - 1gb and 2gb, and the high-speed branded cards that are available, will have been engineered better to cope with the huge amounts of data that they manage.
Is that not the case?

That might be true, but in this case, only 25mb file is being use.

@QVGA
Without sounding pedantic, wouldn't the the larger cards be engineered to manage data better 'irrespective' of file size?
I mean the performance of the larger capacity cards doesn't drop because a smaller file is used. It would be / should be constant, shouldn't it?

I'm not sure if this holds true, so if anyone has proof either way please feel free to let me know, but I was under the impression that Sandisk actually made the cards for Sony? Is that right, and if so then *theoretically* at least they should have the same performance?

Apparently they don't have the same performance, with the Sandisk cards being quicker. Sandisk and Sony collaborated in developing the pro duo cards so theoretically they should be very much the same.
However, it seems they are not
I want to see these results.
