Hi,
I've never had a 3G phone before, but - from what I understand - it allows things such as video calling.
I'm getting a 3G SIM from O2 with my phone, how then does the 3G work? Is it just like normal data (GPRS, for example) except quicker? And is it charged in the same way - just per kb, or however they do it?
If I want to make a video call to a friend with a 3G phone, how do you do it? Do I need a 3G 'account' or something?

also, normally umts/edge (3g) data, is exactly the same price as gprs data, just faster. but some networks (such as t-mobile's web-and-walk) give a fixed amount for almost unlimited internet (in other words: within reason).

Check your contract, as I believe O2 often allow inclusive minutes to be used for video calls. Certainly with the deal they offered me a few days ago when I threatened to walk away from them they did, and I don't think it's anything unusual.

Yep, o2 allow video calls inclusive of your free minutes...so you could use all your minutes as video calls. Pretty good of o2, as companies such as 3 charge you!

Not, that I've since found, I get it where I live. But it'll be interesting to try when I next go to London.
