Hello, First time poster,

I just purchased a P910i and I was wondering how truly international is its capability. Will I be able to use the P910i in the United States as well as internationally? Also, would I be able to simply purchase a sim-card (from Jordan or Egypt, etc.) and use the phone through the sim card--if so--would I be able to make calls from the U.S. using a sim card purchased from Jordan without purchasing a service plan in the United States?

Thank you for your help, looking forward to learning a lot more about this phone...

I am having a P910 bought in Germany by Vodafone using in Italy with SIM from alternative networks (Telecom and Wind). Therefore do not worry; unless it is blocked it will work.

The P910i international is a 900/1800/1900 band fon. In the us cingular and tmobile use the 1900band. I am using a P900 on tmobile here. Works great.
Now to the SIMs. If you use a prepaid from the us you will get more out of it, because with a prepaid SIM from Jordan, Egypy, etc. you would pay international rates (minutes would run out faster). Make sure you fon is unlocked (not tied to a specific carrier)

Yup! Dats rite.. P910 supports PCS (GSM 1900) used in USA, Canada .. And a SIM from Jordan working in USA or nywhere for that.. would depend on whether That Provider from Jordan has a tie up with some Provider in those countries (that you visit, in your case USA) This message was posted from a S700

Thank you for your help,

Would anyone happen to know where I could purchase a pre-paid simcard from the USA? Are there simcards from the U.S. that would not require me to be associated with a service provider (just use the pre-paid simcard (in U.S. and internationally) without having a service contract)? Also, is there anyway I could access the internet on the phone with out having a service provider plan?

Thanks again,

One can only guess It to be possible ! BtW- even a pre-paid card would, in a way, "require you to be associated with a service provider" This message was posted from a S700

I made a note about that at home. I will post it when I get there in about 90min. You can buy prepaid simcards here:
