> K800i M2 card not recognised by PC?
Bookmark topic
I've been really pleased with my K800i I got on Saturday.
The only thing that is causing me grief is getting the M2 card to be seen as a removable drive when connected by USB. The PC can see the internal phone memory but nothing else - meaning I can't transfer any music to it nor can I transfer photos out of it to my PC - not unless I use the phone to transfer them to the internal memmory first!!
I've formatted the card via the phone and reinstalled the software but still no joy - does it mean I have a duff M2 card??

I had the problem too.
What i did was plug the USB cable into the PC then into the Phone, with the memory card init (Does the phone pickup the memory card?). Then I inserted the CD and installed all the relevant drivers and it was fine. If you have other usb drives in at the same time it may casue a problem. I have a memory card reader installed too and it gave me K800i problems, but once I diconnected it, it was fine.
Hope this helps
Cheers

It sees the onboard memory as a seperate harddrive and the memory card as a seperate harddrive... Just like when you put a usb flashdrive into the PC...
Hope this helps

If you connect the phone in File transfer mode it only lets you access the phone memory. You have to use Phone Mode and use Sony Ericsson File manager from the CD to browse the memory card.

Had set it up in exactly the same order - no problems with PC Suite etc (which surprised me!!!) - but just cannot get the card recognised.
The phone has no problems accessing it and saving photos to it - just can't get the PC to see it as an additional drive!!
Just a small issue that has a huge effect on the use of the phone - I ain;t gonna get much music and photos on the internal memory now am I!!

The other problem with file transfer mode is that it shuts the phone down. how stupid is that?!

I know that is a hassle and then having to wait for it to start up.... I only use it to transfer music otherwise I bluetooth everything to the phone.
Easier and simpler
