Sorry, i posted this in the software forum, but because that forum is almost inactive, i got no reply.
My question is, whenever i am running an applicaiton that requires GPRS, shouldnt it keep the connection running all the time when its running? On my phone it automatically disconnects it after a small period of inactivity, and then it reconnects when required. Unfortunatly, that kind of activity costs me a lot! So, is there anyway to keep the GPRS connection active all the time when the application is running?
My friend's K750 doesnt have this problem. And I have the latest firmware.

For java app. it needs to be gprs internet setting.
Bdw which handset do you use.?

No, different operaters. And I have both the GPRS and WAP settings.
I use a W800

All my apps work even if i leave it on and minimise it keeps running!!
It could be the specific app maybe.

Quiet unheard of! Should not.. but then I hardly use beyond Opera or Inbuit Browser and one app that updates Currency Exchange rates (releavnt to this problem)... Perhaps try what @jeet mentions.. Maybe he means- tweaking it from 'wap' mode to 'HTML' mode (maybe also the Proxy & Port settings to go with it).. But frankly am just shooting in the dark, It could be handset specfic & having played with it for just couple of minutes, I wouldnt know much..

@QVGA- Look I know that fortune favors the brave n stuff.. But in my case I knew y I did it & knew tht solved my issue.. Bt fr u.. Dunno.. I got better connectivity (& less signal drops), support for larger (than wat my Providers' terms mentioned) file d/loads.. after choosing HTML, enabling Proxy & changing Port address.. But that wasa knwn hack told off the record by an young executive at their shoppie.. So I had taken a safer chance..

@QVGA my w800 disconnects as well after a period,i remenber that a cracked opera mini had a setting: "Keep Connection Alive" or something like this.Otherwise I don't know,sorry
