> K800i USB transfer speed

I'm only getting about 300k/sec when transferring files via USB2 to the phone (the phones memory). Is it supposed to be this slow?
I have a MemoryStick Micro 1 GB waiting to be picked up at the store. If I only are gonna get 300k/sec, I'm not looking forward to filling my MemoryStick with 1 GB of music

I don't know because I don't have the phone, but IMO, it sounds great! My k700i speed used to take about 10 secs to transfer a file which was 200KB

I'm getting 40k/sec over bluetooth, so compared to that it's ok. But USB2 can handle up to 60 MB/sec (at the best but often not that fast).
I would be satisfied with 5 MB/sec, but with 300k/sec a 1 GB MemoryStick is hardly useful.

I can't get my usb connection working. I'm having to use bluetooth and I must admit I would be happier with a USB 2 connection.
When you connect the phone to the usb cable to you select file transfer? What happens after that do you see the phone as a drive in My Computer?

If usb speed of K800 is around 300KB/s than this is scandal ! It is the same as it is in K750.

I'd rather not buy a card reader when it's supposed to work with the supplied cable. Btw, is there any card reader out there that supports MemoryStick Micro yet?
I don't know what else to do than connect the phone to my USB2-port on my PowerMac. My iPod Nano gets full speed on that port.
Found a spec that says MemoryStick Micro theoretically can handle upp to 160 MBps:

Don't know about the integrated memory, but if it is beacuase I'm using the integrated memory to test this, then photos should take up to 3 seconds to be written to the memory when taken. And I don't think that it takes that long.

Theres alot of confusion going on about USB 2.0. The speed for USB 2.0 is actually the same as USB 1.1 = 12 MBps! The 480 MBps is only for USB 2.0 HiSpeed! So if the K800i is equipped with USB 2.0 only then the highest possible speed would be close to 1 Mb/sec. Thinking about that this is a mobilephone where low power consumption is a must, i don't think that 300 Kb is that bad at all. If you need more speed then buy a cardreader - they are very cheap.

When you buy a Memory Stick M2, it'll come with an adapter card to make it fit in anything that supports full-sized Memory Sticks (the same way you get an adapter with Memory Stick Duos)
