About 4pm this evening my phone refused to turn on. All it does when you press the on/off button is flash a red light in the IR port. It been on a charger for 1 hour and nothing happens.
Took it back to the local CPW as it was 5 minutes walk from where I was, to get it exchanged and the manager refused as I didnt have the box with me. I asked him to just switch phones from the box but he refused! He would not budge and wouldnt give me a loan phone. I am now left with a dead phone. Dont know when I will be able to take it in with its box as I am busy for a while so it doesnt look like I have my K800i for a while.
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

that is bad news.
it does sound initially like some sort of battery or charging issue though doesn't it? presumably it appears to be charging when connected to the charger?
if you haven't already done so, perhaps taking the battery out and reseating it might help. thats just a wild random thing sort of thing I'd try, but you never know

I have taken the battery out for 15 minutes, Nothing. It doesnt do anything when plugged into the charger. As the red light comes on when you press the on/off button I presume power is getting from the battery to the phone.

I just tried the SE update service and it didnt even see the phone.
What annoyed me the most about this is the CPW managers attitude. He might as well have said "Its not my problem, go away".

Sorry to hear that....
Hope it all gets sorted... CPW are very good in cases like this... My store seem to be good. I get on well with the people and always go to them... When it came to the K750i... They changed it for me 3 TIMES. Which was good of them
Again sorry to hear that
Cheers

ENJOY

Generally CPW have been excellent. This time though the manager was a complete A*** ****.
@jack77777
It doesnt matter or not if I have the insurance as the phone is under 14 days old (got it 30th june) they have to swap it for a new one by law.

@jc-If you said that its just a 5-minute walk from your place to the shop then why did not returned back and took the box so that your problen would have been solved asap? Is the box still with you?

You have 28 days to exchange a handset.... so there shouldnt be a problem...
I just remembered when I changed my K750i once the guy wasnt bothered abut the box....
The Manager you met must have been a TOTAL P***K
Cheers

Me and the phone were 5 minutes from the shop but the box was an hour away. They wouldnt just swap the phone and keep the box for the new phone.
