I've tried downloading the version of opera mini from further down the page and and installed it successfully on my k800i, however, when i try to run the program i get an error message.
Is there another version that works on the k800?
Many thanks

i've installed the 'official' version and that works fine, hopefully a modified version of version 2 will be out soon and that will work as well.
Thank you for your help

opera mini is a 100 times better than the built in browser.

for interest, lets flesh this out with some detail
as I have not used mini Opera extensively, only to give it a quick go, what makes mini Opera that much better than the K800 built in browser?

probably the formatting of the page, and also loading some pages that the internal browser doesn't (i read that K800 has NetFront,w550 has that browser too, that's why i think i am right because i had experience with a w550) also Opera has several settings like, font size, landscape mode (i think Opera Mini 2 has it),shortcuts... and overall faster loading of pages (not like 1000000x like a previous poster said, just a bit faster)
hope this helps

thanks.
I can confirm that the built in browser has landscape mode and also a zoom function which probably equates to font size as you can make the displayed page larger or smaller (from 200% to 50%)
the internal browser also has a "smart fit" option which seems to work very well for page formatting but I'd be keen to try pages that you say don't load if you'd care to share those URLs
there are also shortcuts in the built in browser
generally I tend not to add stuff to my devices unless there is a good reason but so far the comparison seems fairly even

sorry if i was mistaken then,it seems that the internal browser has been improved quite a bit from older versions.glad that it has those features.
good luck with your phone, enjoy it

now that I have installed opera for the purposes of this thread I'll certainly give it a go when I get some time.
don't wanna miss out on something that might be good!
