A similar question has just been asked about the phone's screens, now it's time to know about the cam lens, or more specifically, the glass covering the lens. I'd just like to know...

also... Is it so bad that it affects picture quality?...

Well, W810 users are more prone to these kind of things. K750 and W800 have camera lense cover, so we're safe.

Unfortunately, this is major problem with W810, to bad because this is the most beautifull phone I have seen so far!

Does anyone know is this protective thing plastic or glass, I'm tempting myself to test it with hot needle

scratches on camera lense will definitely effect the quality of picture. there is not a single scratches on my phone, i always use good screen protecter and wipe with moist cloth.

a screen protector like cover for the camera lense would seriously deteriorate the camera quality. - not sure what else you could do except keep the phone in a case and then when you want to use the camera take it out of the case :S

my K750i camera lens are safe though... but for W810i.. just a suggestion, mod the back casing change it into K750i or W800i back case i saw one of my customer using a W810i with the K750i back casing .. not as great looking as the original W810i back casing but hey.. care about the picture quality and your phone camera lens

there are the odd occasions where the sliding cover slides to ON while in the pocket....

yep i've seen pictures of the modded w810i - i'm not sure the camera slider works properly, and you have to cut several little notches off of the case but hey - it works doesn't it? - it atleast protects the phone - but then again...if keeping the phone safe is at a cost to your 'street cred' - you seriously, seriously need to get a life

the k750i sliding lens cover keeps it safe...just the fact its rather too big...problem with all phones with a sliding cover...unless you have to press a button then slide the lens cover (tehehe if no one has patented this...its mine...all mine! - unless someone else'll do it and then give me the money )

mine has small streaks on it already, after only one week of use. But I'm almost sure it wasn't anything that scratched it but me. I always use it in a case, but the other day I noticed a little dust and took a cotton cloth to clean it. After that, this little streaks came to light. they're only visible if I lean the phone a little to the side and there's good light on it. I have not noticed any decrease in picture quality so far but I wonder until how long.

is there a way to replace that cover or is it completely solded to the cam module?
