this is curtesy of Hot UK Deals

If anyone has a O2 contract, you can cancel now penalty free. This is what you must do:

Write a simple letter to their disconnections department (USE ROYAL MAIL RECORDED DELIVERY)

Write in your letter that because O2 has changed your terms and conditions using charging for ringing 07744 & 07755 numbers that this put`s you at a disadvantage under clause 8.4 c of your terms.

At the moment O2 let you ring 07744 & 07755 numbers out of your free x minutes, but from the 1st July they will charge you 25p a minute.

This is your get out of contract free.

Hurry and get the letter in the post.

(don't ask me...!)

yeah, I remember a couple of similar threads a year or two back and though I've never done it, I'm tempted as I have an O2 contract I don't really want as its not being used

Could you cancel your contract even thought you're only in your first month?

I would imaging if you started the contract before the 1st of july then you can cancel away! after that i wouldn't have thought you would have a leg to sand on!

Oh does anyone know if there is a time scale on canceling?

I'm kinda in to minds weather to do this as i don't really want a k800i on a new o2 contract as i think the w950i is more up my street, ah what to do?

This will not work people, nor will you be able to cancel your contract without any penalty fee's since the numbers 07744 & 07755 are not really mobile numbers or landline numbers, they are access numbers, that you call to make a further connection to international numbers i.e access numbers.

Only mobile numbers within the UK and Landline numbers and certain 0845 and 0870 numbers are part of your inclusive allowance.

Also access to these numbers if its going to be free or not free is set up by the company that provides the access number services.
