> Can you turn off USB charging on the K800i?
Bookmark topic
I transfer quite a few files between PCs using my phone, so it would be handy if this could be turned off, as i shouldn't think it is particularly handy for the battery's life.
So, can the USB charging me turned off? i'm sure i read something a few days ago that suggested that it could, but i can't seem to find it now.
Many thanks
Spud

On the W800, with the USB charging, it does say "optimised" charging, just charging.
Whats the difference between optimised and non-optimised charging?

Pressumably optimised charging from the mains is quicker, have no idea why though.

how can you test it with K750 when K750 doesn't have that setting?
so of course its still charging... you didn't do anything!

But as suggested by spud_work is the USB charge potentially damaging to the battery and that why SE have "hidden" the option in the service menu?

Older batteries used to get "charge memory" wherby if you didnt wait till it got flat then charge it fully the batteries wouldn't perform to there optimum hours. aparently this was wiped out with the the new lithium batteries. so who knows?
