Just a thought.........
Would it be worth while doing a petition on all mobile phone forums to see how much support can be drummed up to convince service providers to create a pay monthly, unlimited 3g connection.
If we had say a few hundred people participating would they listen? Lets say you could get unlimited internet access via 3g or GPRS or even EDGE for example for about GBP 15 a month!
There are plenty of handsets ready for live TV which streams on average 1 meg for every 4 minutes or so (so i have read somewhere).
There are a lot of people who use thier mobile phone to connect thier laptops and computers to the net!
Infact there are many many reasons why we should have this option and service providers should really do somthing about this!
Let me know your thoughts and i might even draw up a petition that you can download and email back to me!

I think you will find T- Mobile are already offering what you want @ £7.50 per month on Web N walk Unlimited usage and for £10 per month on Web N Walk professional although this is capped at 2gig per month usage. The other Networks will have to come out with something soon IMO as currently T-Mobile are gaining more than 50% market share of new connections due to this.

yes this has been established a great deal in these forums but thanks anyway.
and since when does unlimited mean capped at 2 gig a month?
c'mon please read the thread thoroughly
But as you can imagine this does not help people on Orange, vodafone or all the other networks.

Hi
I realise that and stated the other networks will have to react, also the non professional version is uncapped i have checked this numerous times and use mine at will.

Could be possible with new markets or offering that need penetration thru wider promotion.. Till market matures.. Like here, we initially had every Tom D Harry Network giving GPRS at fixed monthly rentals- even (real- no cap) unlimited plans.. Now all of em have volume based charges or confusive rental plans.. I Love the Idea of Collective Bargaining Thou !!

All I know is that £2.35 per Mb is pathetic! Kinda makes 3G an expensive proposition, no wonder it isnt taking off as quickly as WAP did!

Does anybody know if o2 will be offering a flatrate 3g tariff in the near future? As £3 a megabyte is too expensive. Be good if they do as their phone branding is minimal.

Way too expensive!
They need these, tariffs to come down. Orange is really expensive. I browse for haf an hour and find I have used about £3. Ridiculous!!!
O2 isn't much better.
T-mobile have the right idea. It doesn't matter if you use 3G or not as they charge by data used.
