Anybody got any idea why they have abandoned the keyboard on the back of the flip and therefore had to reduce the screen size ?

Just makes no sense to me...... or have I missed something ?

the screen is only slightly smaller, it has been moved nearer the top of the phone to allow the qwerty key board to fit below. as for a 'reason', i guess SE thought it was an improvement over the keyboard on the flip's reverse. my own thought is i don't like the p990 keyboard being 'permanent'. i had the p800 and the p900 before my current p910 and as such i got used to using the virtual keyboard. i have never used the one on my 910 ever. for me the 990 should have had the same flip as the 910 with a bigger screen. i don't think in use that the slight decrease in screen length on the 990 will be noticeable.

The P990 screen is 2.76" compared to 2.8" for P910 (0.04" difference) . I doubet anyone can notice such small difference in reality, especially since it is compensated by larger resoluition.
