I think the only way on the phone is to cut and paste the numbers between the fields.

Alternatively, go back to the source of your import (you don't mention what format that is) and reformat it there

I don't think it needs 'fixin''. It's just another way to organize a phonebook. Even if it comes from the same manufacturer,it's not necessary to be compatible with one another.I have a 910i for 2 years now and still can't sync Outlook with the phonebook(others work fine).I just don't need the hassle so I just let it be,just like it is.It doesn't worth the bother. Really? What phone was that? Or do you mean you could edit and rename the field for each contact? First I thought you meant your old phone could rename fields for all contacts at once.

What I ment was lets say you have a # as a home phone, but later find out it is a mobile phone.. in the p910 i can click on the icon next to the number and change it.. this is especially important in a mobile phone as the option to send sms will not show up if its not designated as a mobile #.. is there no way to do this?

@modarecords,

While the built in contacts application in the p910 only allowed sms for mobile phones designated numbers, the m600's application allows sms for both landline and mobile phone numbers.
