I don't normally post virus warnings since they're mostly over-hyped, but this virus is potentially very dangerous because there won't be a security patch released for quite a while. It's mainly targeting PC users in Asia at the moment but it could become a worldwide threat very quickly.

Key-logging is when a piece of software records what you type and send it back to a specific server

Nah, unfortunately I won't be going to India again until the end of October
Keyloggers are little programs that run without you knowing it and they record everything you type on your keyboard. Hackers can then access your PC through the backdoor that the powerpoint presentation also installs and read the keylog, looking for usernames and passwords, credit card details etc.
It's a dangerous little bugger, this one

Yeah, as I understand it the virus uses a security loophole in powerpoint to physically install the keylogger and backdoor on the windows system. Therefore if you're running powerpoint on a mac you should be perfectly safe. It's not powerpoint itself that gets infected, rather the windows system that it's running on.
I'm not sure whether or not powerpoint viewer is affected too, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.
