Haven't got K800i with Xenon Flash yet as its price here is extremely expensive..just wondering is it of the same quality as my MXE-60 attached to K750i? If not, where do the differences lay? I've been using MXE-60 for a year and find it helpful to take shots in darkness. Thanks. Anyway, can I update my MXE-60 as in service info it says something about 'SW REV:...R1A'?

The power of build-in flash on K800 is likely less than of MXE-60. What makes real difference is how these two behaves when it is necessary to adjust the flash exposure with joystick, you know the exposure compensation or the brightness adjustment, as SE calls it, ranging from -2.0 to +2.0, where the +2.0 setting lets 16x more light to enter the camera sensor than the -2.0 setting.

To make my story short, please take alook at these test series, taken by -2, -1, +1 and +2 setting (the correct exposure on 0.0 left out!)

The K750 & MXE-60 combination, on and off:

In other words, the K750&MXE-60 combination allows more flexibility in balancing the ambient light captured during the 1/15s long exposure time and the flash light.
