I have always found the vertical grid lines (or Hashing) very annoying when looking at photo's taken with the K750. But, you know what? I reckon there may be a difference in the quality of the photo's taken by the K750 and W800. It may be related to early releases. But, I have made a very distinct point of reviewing photos taken by both the K750 and W800. And, I think I have to say that the w800 (and perhaps later K750's) may not suffer the problem as profoundly as the early K750's. Seriously, I have looked at many photo's and always been annoyed by those grid lines. But, when I review all the photo's I have kept from my W800 I find it very hard to pick the grid lines/hashing. Sure, there is still graininess in poor light and I may have deleted photo's with excessive gridlines but, the majority of what I have kept show very little evidence of those horrid grid lines. Has anyone else noticed this? Could it be that the early K750's had a different sensor to the later models which was more prone to this problem? I reckon so.

It probably was firmware related. I note that a lot of my observations were of early photo's taken by K750 which would have meant early F/W. And we all know that the photo quality got better with the later F/Ws.

I think that both seem identical. I haven't seen any difference. They are using the samera camera module though...

The W900 and W810 get rid of the blue streaking/grid effect. The W800 and K750 both suffer from this, so I suspect the camera module is different on them.
The W700 and other non-autofocus 2 megapixel cameras don't seem to have the streaks either, but the photos are incredibly noisy and lack the definition. In fact, while both are two megapixels, I don't consider the non-autofocus models (sadly including the W850) to be serious camera phones at all. They're the same as all the other cameraphones on the market, like the V3x, that boast about pixels but leave you very disappointed.

I can confirm that issue found on k750/w800's was resolved on w810 phones. so I'm not so sure if the w810 share the same cam module as k750/w800.
but back on topic, they're the same cam module, but there might some differences due to the firmwares. if you use the modded cam drivers, then the camera gets even better, especially in the video area.
