Is it possible to delete the protected k800i files? also is it possible to remove the distribution protection on files?

you can't delete protected files with this. Some you can't even see (for example games cannot be deleted with this at all (unless moved to external memory - which you can't do with protected games. anyway)

There must be a way round it. Really annoying having their protected videos on there.
I guess it will only really be possible once FAR manager can access the FM off the K800's.

That's correct - only when we can access the file system directly will we be able to delete protected files in this way. At the moment there is no way to do this.
