Hi,
I just got an m600i in the post this morning, and it looks lovely.
The only thing is that Vodafone have gone and branded it to hell!
Icons and wallpapers etc I can live with - hey I dont even mind a few shortcuts to vodafone live! etc - but this time they have gone and completely removed the little icons on the foot of the screen and replaced them solely with text.
Does anyone know of a way I can get the original SE interface back on my screen?
(Or am I missing something and Voda aren't really that bad at all - perhaps I can't find a shortcut or something?)
Anyone able to help? This is killing me...

Did you try to flash it with SonyEricssons Update Service?

Yeah.
It just spits back the Vodafone UK branded one at me.
I called Voda to complain about their terrible crime against usability and no-one there even knows what the phone is! ;-/
And SE say they can't replace it for an unbranded firmware for me

Does anyone know the service menu code for the m600i? Anything useful in there at all?

Did you try a master reset? Back up your phone before, because everything will get deleted. Try flashing after the master reset.

Nope.
Still Voda.
This is so annoying. I've waited month for this phone based on the elegance of the UIQ3 interface and then...!"£$"!£$$%£
Angry.

Master reset wont work..you would prob have to wait for some unlocking tool like Davinci Team to have support for reflashing software. You can then debrand the phone...only problem is you might not be able to access the vodafone live portal because it wont recongnise it as a "vodafone" phone.

And if you do use Davinci you will loose your warranty.

Or would a theme with the original icons attached fix it? SE ones don't seem to work.
The annoyance is that voda have replaced the Today bar icons with a dropdown text list :|
So might need a complete flash?
