> which digi camera to buy?

hi all!
I'm thinking about buying a new digi cam. I was looking at either the samsung A7 or the HP R817. Which one do you think would be better? I like the look of the HP because it has 5x optical zoom but does anyone know any good/bad points about these camera? I've had a look online but would be good to hear from someone who had owned one of these cameras?

Have you looked at the Sony W15? I know its not on your list and a little more than budgeted perhaps, but top quality camera.
Otherwise probably the Samsung.
