Hi All,

I'm just going into the process of returning my m600i to voda and have just seen on their website that the release date for the w950i is August (the same as the m600i is listed).

Does anyone have any 'more detailed' release date information - as I might hold off and get this instead (in the hope that they will leave the UIQ3 interface un-messed with, this time)

?

Knowing Vodafone they would proberbly customise it as well!

This is my worry. Although they left the w810i pretty intact.

I think the problem with the M600i customisation is that they tried to make it *better* for business/crackberry users.

For me, this failed - but for others it may well be a good UI... I dunno (still jaded).

Well, Voda website says August - but the people on the phone don't appear to know anything at all

Also, does anyone know anything about handset cost? Will it be more expensive than the M600i do you think?

The W950 will definately be more expensive. No doubt about it. We'll hav to pay a premium for a smartphone.

Hi i would imagine it will be more as not only is it a Walkman phone and a smartphone but also comes with 4gig on board memory. This is defiantly going to be my next phone well eventually that is.

In life you only get what you pay for, i think the keypad on this and the general appearence is nicier than the M600 and as i don't need/want WiFi or a camera this is just about my ultimate phone. I also think by the time this launches there is a better chance of UIQ 3 being more stable.

You're right Doggyman.I wouldn't mind the price and l think it's gonna be worth every cent.I hardly use the camera on my P800 so a w950 will do just fine for me,and what l like most about this phone is the 4gig onboard memory so I won't have to buy these xpensive mem.sticks plus it's a phone dedicated to music.I'll only get the W950 after a year & half from now when my contract will be ready for an uprade and l believe there'll be no bugs and plenty apps by then.As for now,I'll be holding on to my beloveth P800.
