Just wondering whether opening a k750i will void the warranty (i have the torx screwdriver)

problem is, this is the third time now my buttons (1,2,3 and select, joystick left and right) have stopped working in my phone. id like to open it to see if i can fix it, but not if i cant fix it and need to return it

also its weird, different sets of buttons stopped working, like 3,6,9 didnt work before, but suddenly the ph repaired itself. crazy.

If you're still under guaranty (you must be, you wouldn't be concerned otherwise), just take it to the sevice center. they'll fix it for you or give a new one.

Hey this is wierd, i have the excact same problem as you! But i think this is a software problem becouse the on/off button works to turn the phone on, but it doesnt work to turn it off!

Im almost 100% sure this is a software problem

i had that 3 thing becoming the ON/OFF button

but then suddenly it started working again.

now a different set of buttons no longer work, must be something causing the problems..

unfortunately i will have to flash my phone back to a k750i (or a d750i if that is possible) - right now its on a W800i firmware. boohoo

mine was like that too, the buttons you said stopped working, and started working then stopped again, but they worked fine in java applications.

i thought it was software related too but i had to send it back and it turned out the board was corroded from water....dunno how :S

It's supposed to void your warranty - but they have to prove it. I think they could only tell if you are very clumsy or rough when you open it. I opened my W800 to replace the joystick with an aftermarket joystick. Yet, when my fast port connector broke I had no problems getting it fixed under warranty despite me forgetting to put the original joystick back in. I would say they must have known it was not the original joystick as the orange dot is solid plastic. I was half prepared for them to say the phone was not covered but they didn't. Then, when I got my phone back I had to open it again to remove the truck load of dust they left under the screen.
