Hello All
I have tried on a number of occassions to contact the developers of this application (as well as the developers for SMSTones & SMS Folder Manager) to see whether it is planned to be ported to the P990i. Has anyone had any more luck than me in obtaining a response?
I find these applications invaluable and would really like to know if they will be available (even if its in the future).
Thanks

Yes i find Magic Profiles Pro is THE killer app i use on my P900 (alongside sman), especially the automatic profile change using cell ids its GREAT!!
I recall emailing the developers around december last year enquiring what i do to upgrade the software on my P900 when ive paid for it....i added a quick note on the bottom asking if it was being made for the P990i and got a reply of the following:
Quote:Hello ********,
All updates are free, so you don't have to pay. Just install the new version over the old (don't forget to disable MPP before updating). Be sure to install it onto the same drive to keep settings.
As for P990 - nothing to say, we must have the device to say anything.
UIQ 3.0 will have too many limitations
Maxim.

Hi both,
yes, MP Pro will be ported over to UIQ 3.0

I LOVE Symbian Wave
For one, we have to understand that all applcations that needs access to "restricted" functions of Symbian OS 9.1 will have to get certified by the stupid Symbian Signed thingy, and yes, including bug fixes, patches, etc!!! This will cost developer's lots of $$$ and hence to be fair to Symbian Wave, there may be an upgrade fee, etc for current owners. I for one, will be more than willing to fork out extra $$$ and purchase MP Pro UIQ 3.0 cos people who owns MP Pro sure knows the power of this neat neat software

Let's hope Magic Screen will be next in the line

Fantastic news! This app has been a godsend on my P900 and I was very concerned when I was originally informed by the makers that it was not going to be ported to UIQ3. Now I just have to wait for the P990 to come out!

Phew same here

I didnt think such a blunt answer from the developers would hold much merit......GOOD!!! Seems stupid but thats one of the things holding me back from going for the P990.....not any more!!!

Guys,
one thing that worries me though, 3G networks don't broadcast their cell ID. that would kinda limit the usage of MPP don't you think?
just my 2 cents

Hi All, actually, me too. The simple reason why M600i did not catch my attention at all is MAJORLY due to No MP Pro. Hence I can wait longer for the P990i to be released. I then sent Symbian Wave an email asking for possibilities of porting over to UIQ 3 but received a reply that almost made me gave up on P990i too.
Hi tendy, correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure telcos will not just remove their already available GSM networks right? I always thought 3G network is an enhancement over GPRS network, and should not interfere with normal GSM?

Has anyone managed to contact S&W to establish whether smstones and smsmanager will be available for the P990i?
Excuse my ignorance but on Series60 Nokias there is software available that allows you to divert call and sms/mms logs into a secure area that can only be accessed through a password protected application (GINA). Is anyone aware if this, or a variant specifically for UIQ3, in the development pipeline?

Apologies... no news of S&W range of apps for UIQ 3

I will sorely miss both SMSTones+ and SMS Manager if I upgrade to P990i
