Im thinking about buying a digital camera, nothing too exagerated like 12MP or really cheap like 3MP. Im looking for something middle-range with good quality.

- It has to have optical zoom
- Has to work with Sony Memory Stick.

I would have recommended a Canon Powershot S2 or S3 with 12x optical zoom and 5 or 6 MP respectively. For a more compact option I'd recommend a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 with 10x optical zoom, 5MP, but only a Sony Cybershot supports a Sony Memory Stick AFAIK.

Check out the Sony Cybershot DSCH1, H2 or H5 they have 12x optical zoom, 5, 6, or 7 MP respectively with image stabilization they call "Super SteadyShotŪ", and has auto mode for point-and-shoot photography or semi-manual to full manual control for more artistic photography. It even supports up to ISO 1000.

If a digicam with a Memory Stick is what you are looking for, I guess you will end up choosing ONLY amongst the Sony Cybershot Digicams here mate . . . .

When I was looking for one last year, Masseur, provided me with a GOOD site for Digicams to choose from . . .

Good Luck pal !

Btw, I'll go for either of the ff:

1. Canon
2. Nikon
3. Olympus
4. Pentax

Those compact Sony Cybershots (like the one Axxxr has posted) has an Optical Zoom lens which only adjusts in the interior . . . not good I think, Optical must protrude on the exterior !

@black - Because I am more at ease using digicams which has 'protruding' OPTICAL ZOOMs . . . I remember when I had a quarrel with one of Sony's sales person then in the AV Surfer Shop (Sony), I was asking for the optical zoom on it's cybershot models (similar to what Axxxr's image post) . .. they said that the zoom adjusts itself on the inside . . . so, I say, that's why I just cannot see protruding lense then Not my type - Blackspot . . .

That just makes it "not good" for you....not necesarily for others, my friend
