Hello people,
last month i bought SE w550i. previously i used Nokia3310. so im new to SE and also to this Forum. i hope u guys will help me out.

and entered into "Service Test" > "LED/illumination", naturally my screen blinks, even the OFF button blinks with a red colored light, i haven't seen that before. do any one knows for wat purpose they have placed a LED.

Relax dude, THere is no need to panic . I have been using w550i for the past 7 months.
1) No, It cannot be used as webcam.
2) Yes u can acccess internet using bluetooth on ur pc. Infact I am posting this reply using the above method:)
3) U can use bluetooth to control ur pc mouse, windows media player, ppt presentations..... U can add more remote functions by adding more HID profiles. Regarding, bluetooth speakers.... no u cant use the pc speaker but there is a deskstand with speakers available at sonyericsson website. Also, some other bluetooth accessories can be seen there like music broadcaster, etc
4) The red LED blinks when your phone is very low on battery. I am surprised u havent noticed this yet!
5) Regarding maintenance,....
Hmmm I was hunting for a decent case but eventually gave up. I ve been using it without case . But still my phone doesnt have even a single scratch anywhere on it. you may just touch up the camera glass with a cotton bud regularly to clean the dust. Remember I said TOUCH UP only. Restart the phone once everyday to free up heap memory. Do not drop your phone. I ve heard many ppl complainin that the lcd glass is quite fragile. Thats all in my opinion. Tho joystick (d-pad) is really nice and durable, after hundreds of hours of heavy gaming, my joystick is still solid as new. I shall say this is the best joystick seen in any se phone.

I dont think thats possible. There is a software to do it on symbian smartphones only but the ideal way is to get a gprs subscription.
Perhaps you may think of using free airtel gprs

I dont think u can do that. I know its possible to synchronize outlook contacts . Again, a gprs subscription would solve this problem too... since u will be able to use the inbuilt email client on phone. Anyway just visit this site ... It may help.

is it possible for using my W550i as e-book. ie to transfer large amount of text (say a Novel) in to my phone. though this phone is not symbian and does not support .sis files, its irritating that i cudnt open .PDF files, .txt files, etc... sometime i use to feel that without knowledge i bought SE-W550i instead of Nokia. because its not symbian, it has a limited memory(256MB only). is there any way or devices (accessory) to expand my phone memory. only these are the drawbacks. regarding the display... no mobile can come near SE even the Nokia (which has a worst display).
