It's difficult to give an answer for which phone is best, as it depends on what you want from a phone. I personally like:
SE K800 - Great all round, compact phone
Samsung D900 - Great fashion phone
Nokia N80 - High capacity Music smartphone
SE W950i - Great Music phone if you can wait for it's release
SE P990 - Great Symbian smartphone with WiFi
Orange SPV M600 - Great Windows Mobile smartphone with WiFi
You need to weigh up the functionality you need (Smartphone, Camera, WiFi / Internet access, Music functionality etc) with the size you are prepared to accept.
