> My P900 jog-wheel has become 4-way
Bookmark topic
Hi,
My P900 wheel-button seems to have lost one of its directions, namely "away". Wheel-clockwise/anticlockwise/in, up (ie pull towards me) work fine but the "push away from me" no longer works - which means I can select menu options but not go backwards in menu options.
Any suggestions as to how to get it working again, or can anyone recommend somewhere in the London (preferably North London) area that I can take it into to sort it ?
Thanks

This has happened to me a few times. Not sure if it is the same for you but I simply played about with it for a while (took battery out, wiggled it repeatedly etc) and then just forgot about it. Eventually it decided to work again, so you could try that. If it is definitely broken then I'm afraid I can't help.

This has happened to me too, but eventually I had to have the wheel replaced. Be very careful when you get the replacement done. Mine came back with a wheel of a different colour and fluff in front of the camera lens.

Could also be the case that something got lodged in there, so try to clean it out.

1) you can`t press it (i mean manually) or 2) you can press it, but there is no reaction on screen? if 1), then open phone and clean it, few days ago i had the same problem (tiny piece of paper from my jeans pocket was blocking it). if 2) start from making format internal disk from service menu, and see if it will help.

Thanks for the feedback all.
Yeah it did happen for a while before on this phone but cleared itself up the previous time(s), this time it looks like its gone for good though.
It was (1), i.e. it doesn't press at all. I'll open it up and see if I can see any blockages, if not then I found a repair centre in North London that stock replacement jog wheels.

This is very common!! I've had mine replaced serveral times (lucky I can do it myself....save on sending the thing away!) and I've had customers with the same. I just hope this has been addressed in the P990i... In fact , maybe that's why those two directions are not on the P990 mmmmmmm
