It really annoys me that the flash fails to go off when I have it set to "auto", even though it's dark enough that I need the flash. So is there a way to manually activate the flash?

The same question was answered this morning. If you use the red eye reduction option then the flash should always go off.

yeap that works ,or you could just set da flash to on, that should solve ya problem
