why would you want to change it? Brown retails phones work fine from what i've seen.

if you want to flash the phone it has to be converted to brown so if he does want to flash it i don't see a problem. I don't think seus recognises Brown phone, though maybe thats what he wants to do

The reason why W800i firmware for brown phone only?? ..cos as explained, at the moment, only BROWN CID 36 can be unlocked or flashed...so u got to change it from RED to BROWN... and DAVINCI server still cannot do that.
Anyway, brown or red won't affect your phone function at all...u will not get any more or less if it's a red or brown phone..
Normally, you will not get REAL BROWN phonem, (although I get four here), cos they are some sort of pre-released or for photo taking prupose only, REAL BROWN phone starts with 0046 IMEI and they have A LOT OF HARDWARE OR BUGS in it...

To change it from brown to red, ask someone or a cell phone company to take your phone in and change it. To do this you need a cruiser / service cable which they have. Takes like 10 seconds. Costed me $5 to change my K750i from brown to red so I could use DaVinci's FS's.

You can change it via Far Manager and the latest version of SEFP plugin . And you don't need service cable , and only DCU cable .
