Hi!!

I found these bottles of Whitbread Celebration Ale 1742 -1992 in my garage today! They are 11.5% a/c O.G 1100.5, each with a unique number.

I remember them costing about 15 pounds a bottle, and now they are 14 years old. Whitbread recommended laying the bottles down for 3 -10 years, but I heard the beer will improve more if left for 25 years!

Any beer people on Esato that could give an idea on current value?

I wonder what these might go for on Ebrew? Ooops, EBay.

Johnex

that's the point, they are old, and well matured.... so more valuable.

fatreg, That's interesting !

I thought I saw a commemorative Ale or two when I searched there,,

Thanks!

I think you would be best getting in contact with a specialist auction house or website, as you will get better offers and advice on where to go etc etc.

what you do is sell the bottle on ebay and say there is still the beer inside!

Yeah, plenty of people do sell bottles with alchohol still in there. Read the small print in the rules, and there is a way around it.
