i tried installing the software from the cd it didnt work. So i uninstalled downloaded off the website and first of all installed the drivers, but after i installed the drivers at the bottom it said there was a slight error while installing driver may not work, so i go on and install the pc suite. When i tryand search for the phone via USB it doesnt recognise it, why didnt the driver work??

You have to manualy install it from the usb drive.
i.e open up the usb port from the installation window.

Throw away the CD that came with the phone and download the latest version of SE communication suite from their web site. Open the ZIP file and you will find a file called something like "Install these drivers before installing communication suite.exe". Run that file and follow the instructions.
Then you can either skip installing the communication suite, (that's what I did), or continue with installing the latest version of the communication suite, which is the other .exe file in the zip file.
If you don't install the communication suite, you have to select "file transfer mode" on the phone when you connect the USB cable, and after that, two new drive icons will appear in your file manager on the PC, one for the phone and one for the memory stick. Remember to right-click one of those drive icons and select "Eject" before removing the USB cable, otherwise, data may be lost on the memory stich or the phone.
