> Mobile Phones are dirtier than Toilets

Your mobile phone could be a major health hazard, research shows.
The phones, an essential part of everyday life for 55million Britons, are crawling with potentially lethal bacteria.
With tens of thousands of microbes living on each square inch, they harbour more bacteria than a lavatory seat, the sole of a shoe or a door handle. Microbiologists say the combination of constant handling and the heat generated by the phones creates a prime breeding ground for all sorts of bugs that are normally found on our skin.
They include Staphylococcus aureus, which can cause illnesses from pimples and boils to pneumonia and meningitis and is a close relative of the superbug MRSA.
Joanna Verran, professor of microbiology at Manchester Metropolitan University, said: "Mobile phones are stored in bags or pockets, are handled frequently and held close to the face.
"In other words, they come into contact with more parts of our body and a wider range of bacteria than toilet seats. The phones contained more skin bacteria than any other object. This could be due to the fact that this type of bacteria increase in high temperatures and our phones are perfect for breeding these germs as they are kept warm and cosy in pockets, handbags and briefcases."

Well cases should do the trick but i personaly think these new
Mobile Condoms are much better as you can wash and clean your mobile without the worry of getting it water damaged.

Its crazy everywhere i go axxxr is promoting mobile condoms. You got shares in them or something?
also im not surprised by the whole bacteria thing on a mobile phone. Anyone know of a way of cleaning your mobile phone safely apart from walking around with it in a condom?

I think some anti-bacterial wipes are on my shopping list.
I'd hate to think of my phone as being 'alive with creepy crawlies'.

this issue applies to anything we use personally every day such as glasses, headsets etc etc and I guess we survive well enough
its the public things we touch that we are more at risk from IMHO and, for example, it annoys me when I have thoroughly washed myhands after using the toilet only to see someone not bother and I have to use the same door handle

There was a similar study recently that revealed that often two of the most germ-ridden objects in the home or office are -
Your computer's keyboard and mouse!
How many of you sit in front of the screen surfing away whilst eating a sandwich without having washed your hands first? I know I do!
