Britons are walking the streets with an average value of £851 ($1,600) in their possession.
"Zurich Insurance has warned British consumers that their expensive gadgetry and designer clothing could increase the risk of them becoming a victim of crime.
The company highlights the fact that there was an eight per cent rise in street crime in 2005 - the Home Office suggested that the increase in mobile phones and MP3 players was part of the reason for this. "

Today?
Clothes - about £10 (I shop a lot at charity shops and cheaper stores like Primark!)
Phone (W800i) - £100
Rather tatty watch - £10 if I'm lucky
£10 cash
Wedding ring and Argos gold ring - £200 total (though not sure on the value of the wedding ring as it was my grans - could be more!)
Gold chain - £150
So if you take out the jewellery and phone I'm worth about £30!
Not worth a mugger taking his flick knife out methinks!
