Firstly - hello everyone!
Ok - I have a Sony Ericsson T290i on Orange network. I keep hearing about a feature this phone has whereby you can be notified when someone opens a text message you sent them. I tested on my other phone by turning on the features "request reply" and "request status" but noticed nothing new. So how do I turn on this feature? And what do 'status request' and 'reply request' do?
Thanks

Thats called a Read Report.
Delivery Reports apply to SMS. Delivery and Read reports can be activated on MMS.
It'll be in your Picture Messaging Settings menu.

Does that mean that if I change the setting in the MMS menu, I will get a report when someone reads an SMS aswell as an MMS or just when they read an MMS?

Only when an MMS that you have sent, has been read by the receiver, will you receive a read report.
This doesn't apply to SMS messages AFAIK.
Oh, and welcome to ESATO

Reply request means exactly that. When the receiver has read the message the phone asks him to reply. A status request is an option in your menu that tells you at what stage the message is at and usually says, Queued for sending, or Sent.
